Intuitive
/Sakonnet DesignWorks Collaborated on the next generation of the Da Vinci Robot surgical system.
Problem
Robotic laparoscopic surgery allows surgeons to precisely operate on their patients through small incisions, reducing scarring, accelerating patient recovery times, and decreasing overall risk. As innovations improve to accelerate new technologies, advancements in visualization, and optics provides great advantages over conventional laparoscopic surgery. Incorporating theses innovations can be challenging!
Background
Its been almost 10 years now since we worked on the second generation da Vinci surgical system. As you may know, it was one of the first robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgical systems cleared by the FDA. Today, a family of da Vinci systems and technologies is used by surgeons in all 50 U.S. states and 66 countries around the world. We worked with Intuitive surgical and Alden products to reduce technical risk and develop a precise and usable system.
